well then buy both i think that should set you off pretty good, i'm sure you'll still have a couple of hundred left, i would spend that on maintenance stuff such as oil and plugs and what not, but if you don't need that then be creative idk, direct fire ignition? or like some people who go for the e-fan? idk, be creative man. lol. .... you COULD send the rest of it to me if you really wanna spend it all :P i can use a couple hundred bucks for my car lol.

Sumitomo HTR 200 tires. About $40-$50/tire, and a great improvement over any all season. Keep in mind that the exhaust has to be well made and of thicker metal than you would use for a piston car, or it will just burn up within the next year.

RB SB Exhaust system. Huge improvement. OR get some good tires and do a full tuneup. Plugs, cap, rotor, wires, full synth for the engine, trans, and rear end. makes a huge difference

1st. Make sure the car stops, turns and runs well.

2nd. Begin upgrades, braking, handling, exhaust, then carb/intake, .

If you're looking for a good DD and don't care about being zippy, get everything up to to stock specs, a good set of tires, then a decent stereo system. Cheap tires are just that, cheap. The Sumitomos seem well suited for the 1st gens and are quite popular here on the forum, both in price and performance.

Before spending any cash, decide where you want to go with the car, (goals) and what you want it to do for you, (goals again). You don't need to follow the rest of the lemmings over the cliff. You're at the point right now where you can go many different ways. Choose what fits your needs the best and choose wisely.
