Good deal?
Ok heres the story....i bought a bed off this guy and i was jus talkin to him n stuff and found out he has an 86 lying with a blown engine and tranny.....he said he'll sell it to me for a hundred bucks. now it's gonna cost me another 100 to tow it to my place. the 100 is in canadian pesos...so thats like $70 US. so i'd be paying a 140 US dollars for an 86...do u guys think it's a good deal? i will go this weekend and check out the car and tell u guys it's condition....till then i jus wanna know if it's a good deal for sumtin like maybe an 86 base model with a blown engine and tranny and average body condition maybe a little rust...thanx

I'd shop around a little before making a final decision, in the past month i've found 3 FCs for sale for around $200. If at all possible, find one with a good transmission atleast. I didn't realize how complex a rotary was until i got mine taken apart, so think twice about rebuilding one. Maybe you could even get lucky and find an FC with a trashed body and good motor in combination with your FC with a blown motor to swap the good motor into and keep the other one as a parts car. Use the blown motor for a learning tool, take it apart, i learned so much by it.

My engine and tranny are bad, the odds aren't unlikely.
TII engine swaps aren't an easy process, you'll also need the TII transmission.

OK i went and checked out the car today FINALLY....it seems to be in pretty alright shape...it's a GXL 86 and it has a little rust underneath but nuttin that i can't fix...3 of the wheels have good thread, the right side door has some rust which has gone right thru...i'll fix it no problem...the left side door has some surface rust...the right side fender is bent in....i'll get it replaced shouldn't be a problem...someone backed into it a while ago....apart from that the engine is totally done....the transmission is arryte it's a used tranny with a new clutch...interior is fine...drivers seat cloth is a lil torn/worn out and the right side headlight motor isn't workin.....i think im gonna get it...should be a good TII project....the problem is the car is gonna cost me 54 USD but towing it is gonna cost me $143(US) and im kinda broke ryte now....so i was wondering for u canadian guys here...do u know any place that rents out flatbeds and stuff? if i can get a flatbed i'll just hook it up to my van and bring it down to my place for cheaper....

I believe u-haul rents out those things to hook up to your wheels to tow, but your going to need a tow hitch. Also, renting isn't gunna be much cheaper (if at all) then towing. $54 towing is acutally pretty good price, is it on a flatbed?? My brothers car cost $100 to get towed from thornhill to mississauga.

Well....not really.....Unless you go slightly illegal and get a strap hooked up from one car to the other....But gotta make sure to have someone in the rx7 to brake and steer....Not good idea for long distances though as if you get caught...$$$
Theres also the other type of hitch where its like a square hole which the trailer fits in to.....hard to explain, but if u see it u'll know what i mean
