Mine's an 81 and the original color was gold. The car was painted red later on. It was more of a bronze color than gold.

Yup, portwarboss on here has an '82 with that color. Here is a pic of it http://www.highline-racing.org/mike/tony.jpg

He even has the back seat installed too. It was in there when he bought it from the previous owner.

I always though of it as a platinum grey. Weren't there red pinstripes on the '83 LE? Did your LE come with the glass sunroof? I found an LE in a local yard that already had the rims stripped off but had the glass sunroof in it still, practically mint except for the metal tops of the bolts on it were starting to be pitted from rust. Makes a hell of a difference over the metal panel sunroof.

Okay, the color is called Chateau Silver. Its kindof a champaign color really.

I have the metal sunroof, which amazingly has no rust on it. I really want to saw out the roof and replace it with a normal hardtop, the sunroof really takes up a lot of headroom, and it would be virtually impossible for me to wear a helmet in the car unless I removed the sunroof and had my head going sideways out the roof. Not to mention the extra weight.

but alas, i dont want to have to cut and weld, then get the whole thing repainted...
