Question Gls-se Actuator Shaft....????

One of my actuator shaft inside the lower intake manifold is not rotating... (shaft that rotates the sleeve...)... I was wondering if Leaving one of my sleeve out and just put one back on... will it have an effect on my acceleration and all the characteristics of a GSL-SE.... How do you replace that shaft too?? I tried twisting it and it cracked and small pieces fell out, but the shaft is still on...

How much is an Oil metering Pump (brand new) cost???

What do you guys think of Dynomax Super CAT direct fit for a 1st gen??? compared to a BONEZ CAT?

About $200 IIRC when I bought mine.

You can get a rebuild kit from loweperformance.com for about $20. Basically just three O-rings....but the fact that the OMP is constantly covered in oil lends itself to a very low failure rate.

You might look into that if yours is just leaking.

Right on.

I'd really like to know how you remove the shaft, it seems like its part of the lower intake manifold....

$20 bucks!!! that's a great deal.... Is it hard to rebuild the OMP???

do you have it apart? soak it in carb cleaner, or wd40 and gently break it free

You unscrewed the two small scews and removed the cover plate that holds the shaft in, no? If it is still stuck shoot some carb cleaner in from the opposite side, assuming you have the intake manifold off.

Right on.

PS: The rebuild kit only includes four O-rings, so I'm not sure that $20 is a great deal. But if yours is leaking, it couldn't hurt. I am about to attempt to put mine back together this week.

Right on 2.

since i have an 89 motor in mine i looked up the price a while ago for its electric OMP, just for kicks.

You think 200 is bad, the 89 one from mazdatrix is $1,100.18!!!

I just hope mine never breaks!

Youre in LA...Go to the junkyards for parts. To take the shaft out, remove the actuator then the two small philips screws that retain it. If it broke, its likely because the 6 port sleeve is stuck and wont rotate..Id recommend removing the entire manifold and get it all cleaned out then replace the need parts.

I tried lubricating both sides with some lubricant similar to WD40 but more slicker... after that I tried hammer it out, but its stuck like a mother F.... The shaft is the one that's stuck the sleeve when I took it out was well lubricated and really free to move....

I gave up and installed the lower manifold with one actuator only.... left the other one off and left the sleeve out.... covered the hole that provides the pressure and installed it back like that.... but this coming weekend I'll be experimenting in the junk yard....

The shaft was the one that won't rotate in either direction.... the other one moved freely with ease.... it wasn't the sleeve in my case that was stuck....

Man oo Man I also did the ATF trick.... White smoke covered my block literally when she ran....
