glass sunroof ?
The glass roofs are totally worth every penny. Gives a little headroom and lets the light in. Try to get a true OEM one. There are some plexiglass ones floating around and they scratch easily and are not so nice.
If you have an '80-'85, they are not too hard to find. You might have to hunt a bit if you want one in excellent condition with all hardware intact. A few years ago, nice ones were $100 or less. The average now for a nice one is probably more like $125-$150. Ones with scratches or missing hardware should be more like $100 or less.
If you have a '79, then you are going to have some troubles. They are different from the other years, so they are very rare. Expect to pay $250-$300 for one of these (if you can find one).
I got mine for free (excellent condition too).
I have been lovin' every minute of it. I just got lucky, but I would have certainly paid the money for one otherwise. They look nice and just make the car that much better.

Not here or at the yards that I have been to in oregon. They know they can fetch $$$ from the glass roofs. The JYs that I have seen want about $100-$125 for them. If you can get one cheap at the JY, that's great, but it isn't always the case. Worth a try, though.
The yard was near Rochester, NY. A couple other people, here and in NH, have paid about the same. I will keep my eyes open next time I'm in that area.
A reproduction would be more than the used prices if anyone is making them. Probably not enough demand. If originality wasn't an issue you could use polycarbonate or just flat tempered glass instead of plexiglass which scratches too easily.

Your wedding gift is awesome. I know your brother Kris. I have a glass roof in my 7 and i love it. It give's me that extra inch of clearance for my helmet when i race and at night its so cool to look out the roof at the star's. There was one on vancouver craigslist for sale, just go to the auto parts section and search rx7.
you know my brother thats rad !was it yu thatgot the 2 parts cars ? he forgot to grab the lower kick panals lol so im looking for red lower kick panals for the interior . where do you live ? kinda want to meet some rx7 guys and cruz .
I've had a glass roof on my '83 for years. I kept my original roof because I thought I may interchange them from time to time, but I've never gone back. The glass makes the whole interior feel so much more open. Mine is slightly tinted and I never noticed a rise in temperature using the glass instead of original. I paid $250.00 for one in perfect condition in my area.

I just missed one being sold for $50 here. Shitty thing is I know the guy and he didn't recognize me email addy, so he sold it to someone else before realizing it was me. Too bad, I was very excited, then very sad. Still on the hunt.
