The shaft is being balanced for a rotor weight of 4269 grams.

The 4 rotor will have some 48 or 51mm Webers. The 20B is getting a MegaSquirt and maybe a turbo after the rebuild.

The rebuild parts I still need are four peripheral ported rotor housings and two 48 or 51 IDAs with manifolds to fit a 12A.

I don't know. Consider each rotor housing is 70mm and each intermediate plate is 50mm. The engine will have four rotor housings and three intermediate plates. You do the math.

70 x 4 = 280
50 x 3 = 150

280+150 = 430mm

So add 430mm to the length of a 12A and that's the length of a 23A.

Actually it's not that simple. Just add the length of a front cover, front plate and rear plate to 430mm and THAT'S the length of a 23A.

I first noticed this thread when I was searching a few weeks back and I'm still amazed! Jeff, it seems to me like every thread I've seen that you've started has been something totally custom, crazy, one-off, or bad-***! You must have a great job to have so much time and funding for your projects, I wish I were in your shoes for a couple of years! I've got to hand it to you, all the cool **** you're doing and have done helps keep me motivated on my project. I'll have to have you help engineer my next one...Keep up the great work!!!

Good god!
A simple question.
I don't know the overall length of a 12A, let alone the sidehousings to add to the rotor housings and the int housings and the frigging front cover
Can't just take a damn tape measure to it?

hahahahah yeah right, keep on dreaming!
I dont disagree that a 4 rotor is ******* awesome and sounds like a demon from hell, but hey I want to drive my car every day, all over the place and still not worry about anything at all, so hello LS1, no denying it, especially with how easy it was to get it in and running in my FC.

It's an awesome project... no doubt. I'd be interested in doing something like this but don't have the time or funds at this point

my first car was a rotor.. and ive been working on it for years slowly improving every aspect.. but there's certainly a place in my garage for my piston car too
The piston is nice and reliable.. and the rotary is my ongoing project where I can play around and not have to rush things to finish early because its my daily car too... i can leave it half done then finish it properly later .. and in the meanwhile drive the reliable piston around :P

this means my rotary can be more ridiculous as it doesnt have to be normal street driveable :P it doesnt need air conditioning to weigh it down, clutter the bay and eat power...

this is not a 1 is better than the other thing :P

looking forward to the next update all the best with it!

I handed a floppy disc with the bank info to the owner so he knows where to send payment. Then the parts will be shipped.
