I'm looking forward to learning as much as I can from this forum & hopefully meeting some cool people!
Hey Ken, that's one of the nicest series 1 first gens I've seen in a long time in one of the best colors available, it looks almost completely stock. I'd keep it that way so that the value will have a chance to escalate over time.
Those aftermarket rims are very nice, and nice rims that fit the (very rare) 4 x 110mm bolt pattern of those cars are few and far between. What are they and do you know where the previous owner found them?

Breach,

Don't wreck it, don't drive on salted roads, and don't sell it cheap to some fool (unless, of course, you sell it cheap to some fool on this board).

Aviator 902S,

The rims are TSW Blade 15" x 7". They were purchased in 1998 in Ottawa. I checked the TSW website & couldn't find them?

Let me see if lets me post this time. My name is David Loran, I'm 32 and I live In Waitsburg, WA. I am an Armed Security Officer in Walla Walla, WA. I got my first RX-7 an 84 GSL in may of this year, on Aug 24 I picked up a 79 and the following day I got an 80. Both the 79 and 80 have no engines but soon. Been trying to post them but have to trim the pics down to the allowed size.
Later................... D.

Hi, My name is Dustin. I just purchased my first RX-7 for $700. Needs a few minor cosmetic stuff. Other than an oil change and a tun-up it's ready to roll. I'm going to use it as a daily driver and do some suspension mods to it. I don't really plan on upgrading parts in the motor, except the ignition system and air filter. I already have a really fast car, so this one can be my cornering machine. The Cobra Corners bad ***, but I'm sure I can make this car corner better because of the low center of gravity.
So, just thought I'd say hi.

Hey my name is Fred i will be a 1st gen owner tomorrow. I was introduced to the rx-7 by my mother when she got one from a bf. For awhile i kinda forgot about them until i moved from Houston to San Antonio and met my friend ryan. He ended up getting 2 1st gens and we did an engine swap on one, but eventually they were gone. He now owns a 2nd gen but i cant think of any other rx7 i'd rather have then a 1st gen. So thats my story. oh and i'm 22 and i live in downtown SA. Thats it really peace!

THIS SHOULD BE A STICKY THREAD....

everyone just shared a piece of them self...
any 1st gen owner should be able to tell there story about how they came to be a REX-A-HOLIC in this thread and for everyone to see who there chatting amongst.
We all got one thing in common..... RX-7's,

This thread should never end...

Ok, I'll finally chime in. My name is Rx7.................dammit I fucked up already.

*ahem* Lets try that again. My name is Carl, uhhhhhhhhh, yea thats it. I live in St Cloud Florida USA. Thats south of Orlando and near Disney, tourist capital of the world where the lost drunken tourists drive better than most locals. I'm 38? Sumthin like that. Grew up in Brooklyn NY, escaped to Fl in 1991. I'm happily married, we have one teenage daughter (dont get ANY ideas ). and we live in a house if you can believe that. I've been an aircraft mechanic for the last 20 years with various airlines. Its a challenging career alot of the time, which keeps it interesting, and boring when theres nothing to do. Ive been into cars and airplanes since I was little (my dad is into sportscars and is an airline pilot). Always wanted a 1st gen ever since they came out and got my first when I moved to Florida back in 1991. Still have it, its the racecar in my sig. Tried to learn what I could, but once I got on the internet I found a whole new world with a wealth of free ****!................ [reminder, edit that out] of knoweledege and info that has steadily grown and which has helped me immensley in learning pretty much anything I want or need to know about these cars. What little I have managed to retain I try to pass along whenever I can. This is a special group of people [I dont mean the kind who ride the short bus, although sometimes.................. we wont go there right now] and I feel proud to be part of this bunch of diseaed rotorheads. Looking thru the thread theres so many who've come and gone. I wonder what happened to some of the old regulars we never hear from anymore?

Chapter2- (or how I lost my mind and have you seen it lately?)

Ill try to keep this short [TOO LATE!]
After getting into Autox and then faster stuff I felt the need to tinker. I am a tinkerer at heart and love to tear **** apart to see how it works and try and make it better (just ask my mom about all her appliances when I was a kid ). So some research and alot of effort [read: $ and time and hard effin work] later I have built myself a flowbench. Why? So I can study airflow and learn how to make powah! Then Sterling and I decide to turn the world on its ear [ or at least make alot of noise and have some fun] by building our own brand of carbs. Of course thats only one part of the whole intake system and theres much work to be done in that area. So that means more tinkereing for moi. This to me is all the fun in this hobby. Even when I fail, I still learn something. Future projects include an engine dyno, a wind tunnel, and some other toys. If I could ever find a place to put them! Well, gotta go back into the garage, theres much work to be done.

Well i guess its better late then never. My name is Lou and i am a new member here. I am from Seymour CT and I have loved 7s since i was old enough to walk. My family owns a chrysler dealership and back in the day they sold mazdas also. I am 21 so I only have a few memories of 1st gens on the dealerhip lot. Thats all i needed though to get me excited about wanting to own one. My uncle had many rx-7s and all of them were always ported and had crazy work done to them . So with these few memories i finally found one last year that was the right one for me. I have an 83 gsl with a 12a bridgeport. Holley carb and port matched intake, holley electric fuel pump and pressure regulator, gsl se rearend, eibach springs, tokico shocks, full rb exhaust,rb aluminum flywheel, eliminated power steering and a/c. The only problem was that when i bought the car the kid who owned it before me spun a main stationary gear bearing and seized the motor. But i rebuilt the engine and everything is fine now and i couldnt be happier. Well thats my story and i hope to make many new friends here. Peace

Extremely late too

My names Paul! I bought myself an FB / 1982 / Series 2 about 2 weeks ago. It's my first car and since I bought it, I have been either on these forums reading/writing, reading the haynes manual, under the car or trying to work out how to fix all my problems and get it roadworthy as soon as possible

I overpaid for it... but I've decided I'll do whatever it takes to restore it Since purchasing I failed roadworthy for 15 different problems... Main things are the engine is modified and requires an $800 certificate to say its safe... the exhaust is too loud... the windscreen needs replacing... It's slowly getting there hehe

Soon to be an expert in RX-7's

Cheerio

Well, My name is Don. I have been a GM person for years and years ( I am currently 32) and have only driven GM vehicles (except for the short-term ownership of a toyota corrola wagon - WOW that was a great runner). I am currently, and have been for about 3 years, deep into Pontiac Fiero's, please no un-informed comments about that (no, they didn't all catch on fire!). I currently have an 86 with a 2.8 V6 w/slushbox. I am going to turn it in to a 2.8 turbo'd open top roadster...

I was given a 1984 RX7 (12a w/ a carb) I may have overpaid . It is in pretty sad shape, interior is pretty trashed, and the only way it will stay idling is to keep the choke out a little.
I have a extensive background in mechanics and am currently going to school for my associates in cad for mechanicals.
I am also a tech/csr for a certain satellite tv company - god i hate my job...

I really like this forum so far, it has been really helpful in explaining just what a Rotary is and how it works. I have always liked the look of the first gen RX7 and should have my 94 turned in to one heck of a daily driver by 2006. It should be a headturner...

Zach from Atlanta, Georgia.

I work in High-Line and Exotic car sales. I've had Porsches, Supras, all sorts of BMW's, and even motorcycles. Just wanted to try something new...and I'm glad I did!

1984 GSL-SE street port, bunch of suspension stuff and a roll cage.
