Gearbox interchangeability, 12A with RX4 bellhousing and TII gearbox

Too make a rather long story short:

I have a 12AT, JDM block, all the extras. Got it tuned in at 506 RWHP last year on pump gas. This year, i decided to try E85, and a little more boost. Added a couple of R compounds to that, and i blew the gearbox.. Bad.

I know that i can fit a S5 TII box (actually i already have one), but the thing is that i already have a VERY light and rare Tilton Flywheel for the 12AT that i rather not would like to throw away.

So im thinking, if i use a RX4 bellhousing on a TII box, would i be able to retain my flywheel and starter combo?

Thanks,

Morten F

i think yes, although you need discs with the turbo splines

Yes, just like j9fd3s said. Clutch disk is purchased as a N/A clutch with turbo II input shaft spline count. This is the same setup going on my build. I purchased my disk from racing beat, but most major brands also carry these. Also, when fitting rx4 bellhousing to tranny you might have to grind area on bellhousing that mates to smaller bearing on tranny for clearance. In some instances I've seen where grinding(not much material removed) was performed inside bellhousing to clear rotation of flywheel(by through out bearing fork base).
