gauge needles

Hey I was wondering is there any way to change the color of your gauge needles? I'm actually thinking of throwing in some gauges and would like to make the needles light up a different color. I'm probably going to try and give them a transparent red color as well. But if I paint them with a transparent red, is there someway to make them light up brighter?

No, what I mean is that if you use glow in the dark paint, then the needles will glow. there will be no light going trough like the stock needles...

That would be interesting. They sell model paint in transparent red for tail lights on model cars. Try going to a hobby store, or even a model store if there's one close to you.

AFAIK, the s3 needles are already transparent orange with backlighting...

I gotta find that gauge cluster I have lying around somewhere.

They were originally orange but I am willing to bet that most of them are faded to clear like mine.

If you sand the back side of the needle with fine sand paper then repaint it(just the back of the needle not the center part where the light comes through) with a solid color they look just like stock except the color of your choice.
