hey my exhaust is very gassy smelling.... if i turn the mixture screw down a bit will it make it less gassy?

i also heard that low mixture make the engine run hotter...

leaning out the engine should reduce that smell, but it might not be the problem, your cat could be shot, or some part of the emissions might be broken causing it to smell bad. and yes, the leaner you go the hotter it gets.
