i totaly understand you, you can get a rebuild kit for it if its stock at advanced for like 30 bucks...ive never rebuilt a nikki before but i hear its not hard...ill be rebuilding mine in a week or two...hopfully it goes smooth
I too hear it's not hard, but I've heard that you want to keep it organized or else you'll risk screwing it up.
I might consider selling my 85 carb, but as of right now, it'd take a fair amount of convincing as I want to create a spare engine in its entirety with streetports and a 79 intake mani

I rebuilt my Nikki, and it was a pain. I did learn a whole lot. Most notably, that any labeling and prep steps you can take to identify everything, do it.
A year ago I owned 2 screwdrivers, now I can do most anything on a REX (slight bravado), of course, much pain/time/money, and mistakes have been made/spent.

Oh yeah,
Go to a nearby salvage yard, and find the Nikki carb in the best shape and pull it yourself. It is great to have that extra carb laying around to disassemble and work with.
Doing this made the task much more painless.

alright, i just dont want to keep my rex disabled for very long if something goes wrong, expecially now since i finally got to get it out, and i just did the whole mechanical secondaries today too, and anyone who has a stock carb needs to do this, cuz its amazing how much difference it makes!! but i will probably just buy a rebuild kit, thanks for the advice
