I just purchased my first car which happens to be a nice 1984 rx-7 GSL. Sadly though the car was in a junk yard and it didn't have a gas tank and a whole wack of other things. I installed alot odf thing on there and cleaned it up, fixed the rust and everything. (I will try to post some pics of the car). One problem though that i'm encountering is hooking up the gas tank. On the car it appears to be there's 4 hoses cut off but yet on the gas thank i only have 3 hose to play around with. Can anyone send me a link to a site where i can find info about hooking it up or can anyone tell me how to. Thanks.

(To add on there this is the first time that I really have done a project like this, i know most of the stuff but not a pro like some of the guys here so try to keep the terminologies in english thanks.)

 

Yeah one of the hoses actually goes no where, into behind a guard I think... Trace the hoses back and I'm sure that you'll be able to find the ones that are actually connected to the actual fuel lines and the charcoal canister. Others will know more than I...

 

Hi and welcome to the forum. Theres really only 3. I dunno where this 4th one goes. It may be from another system. Thickest is the fuel supply (it goes to the filter after it passes thru the rollover valve). The other 2 are fuel return, and vent. Can you post a pic of what you got? Then we can point out which goes where. Look in the faq thread for links to online shop manuals which have excellent diagrams which should be enough to get you going.

 

I will try to post some pictures tomorrow or friday depending on how busy it gets. I actually do have some shop manual that i borrowed from my neighbourg that used to be a mechanic but didn't find too much info in there about gas tanks. I'm so eager to get her starting though ... I wanna hear if she's alive or not. Thanks for the prompt reply.
