gas in oil

I checked my oil today and noticed gas smell in the oil, what would be causing that? The motor has 85,000 miles on it. I did a compression check on both front and rear rotors (front 123 psi) and rear (125 psi) and they both pulsed evenly all around, I dont get it, anyone have any ideas?

Its been a while since ive changed the oil, I dont drive it as of now, it sits at my house, I havent driven it because it has no tag, so I start it every once in a while and drive it around the block, It just gets warmed up to operating temp, a couple hard pulls but nothing hard, maybe I should change the oil and check it again after, what do you think?

Short trips (like you describe) contribute to the "gas in the oil" smell. Longer trips give a better opportunity for contaniments in the oil to evaporate out.

I understand, ill change the oil, then ill just start it let it idle to operating temp, till I get it tagged. I was waiting to register it till this year so I could get the antique tag, and ive been doing a full gslse suspension swap, and coilovers inthe front, thats all done, so tag will be on soon
