NC gas leak ,engine compartment--gsl-se

I hope some one can help...I have a gsl-se ...I started car, smelled gas , opened hood and gas was leaking from that little plastic cap that is about a 1/2 dollar rooiund in shape...its next to the alternator ....Its a little plastic cover that goes over a bolted on piece..not sure how to describe it but I think most of you who know gsl-se 's know what I am talking about..

I took off that little plastic cover and it is leaking gas when the car runs...it looks to be bolted on..can I replace that and what do you call it??? where can I get it??

thxs for your help!!

That stupid little plastic thing is what allows you to die in a fire. It is called the pulsation dampener and has been a continuing problem on 1st and 2nd gens for decades. Its function isn't really necessary in the grander scheme of things so it is best to remove it if you have the means and desire. I would were I you.

I've never messed with one before but now that you know what it is called, you can use the search button for the many ways to eliminate the problems they can and will cause.

A new PD is over 100 bucks. Russel makes a 7 dollar banjo bolt that fits perfect. Search my name, banjo bolt an pulsation dampener and you should be able to find the part # for the bolt.

TX I think

I have a PD blockoff banjo bolt somewhere in the garage. It's on the fuel rail I have from my 86 13b n/a.

I'll go check to find it and if I do I'll just send you the rail.

lemme go look. If I don't PM you that means I couldn't find it...
