Gas Cleaner?? Good Or Bad

Is it good to add gas cleaner into your tank? I was told it was bad. So what happens?

I use fuel system cleaner regularly, both on carbureted and fuel injected engines, as preventive maintenance. No problems in the last 7 or 8 years of my experience. I also do not recall anything negative said about the practice by my friend Rob Golden, owner of Pineapple Racing.

Anywhere fuel goes, varnish can build up over time. This means fuel pumps, carbs, injectors, etc. I can't think of anything negative about using the fuel system cleaner to break down those deposits...

I heard ZMax is pretty good and recommended. Pep Boys sell it for $40. But it comes with everything. ATF cleaner, gas cleaner, oil cleaner, and even an oil cleaner for your lawn mower!

I used it once on my galant .. it just felt like my car was running cleaner, lol.

Just use CHevron gas. They have Techron in all the grades they sell and it is proven to clean and keep clean over time.

Like I said, it worked nice for me. Just try it once if money is not an issue. You might like it. you don't know what you buy, drink, or eat, so it's all up to the customer's satisfaction.

I looked some of it up, and pretty disappointing. So my point was quite clear on that, lol. .. I don't know what to believe, but it looks like AMSOIL is getting a lot of money out of this.

EDIT: What is AMSOIL anyway? Never heard of it.

It's the stuff that frees up locked motors and is supposedly a super lubricant. Like PB Blaster only thicker.

I once used the cheapest gas treatment I could find. It worked wonders to clean up a slight stumble in the accelerator pump. I use it semi-regularly or when the engine starts to run rough.

Just use Chevron gas. It is much better than any other gas you could buy. Plus the techron will work wonders to keep everything clean.

In detroit they don't sell Cheveron and what kind of gas do you think auto manufactures put in thir cars? You got it; Chevron. They truck it in. Now thats saying somthing.

with inline 4 motors I wouldn't recommend chevron, yeah it's good for your tank and all, but it makes the acceleration slower! it also depends on what gas you get from the pump. I dunno how you can tell buy looking at it, but sometimes you can get crappy gas from them, just in my experience.

I use Texaco/Shell gas. It helps your performance more than you would think for acceleration.
