Future Goals For my car Realistic?

Well I have a 1985 GSL, it has the stock 12a in it still. Currently im saving up for a paint job but after paint I wanna maybe go streetported. Im wonder what kind of numbers you guys think this setup would put out:

Large Streetport 12a (rebuilt engine of course)
Weber sidedraft (with a better fuel pump)
Lightwieght steel flywheel (i know it doesnt add hp)
4.444 gears (wow this car would accel fast off the line)

I was wondering if hitting 200-225 is realistic oh ya note that I have the whole RB stock port exhaust, didnt go streetport exhaust lol. Anyways I appreciate your responses, my goal is to bring the life back to a 20 year old car =) and I think 200hp in a light car like a rx7 is deffinatly a start!

Thanks!

i'm wondering the same thing at this point, i have a 83-85 12a tore apart i'm rebuilding and would be wondering what increase i'd get with a street port, 500cfm edelbrock, no cat and bosal muffler (since thats the exh on it)... just ballpark figure anyone?

i was thinking ~180-200

I`m guessing that a setup like that would give you about 160-170 at the most. The reason beeing that i have seen almost the same mods done to a 13B, and that "only" puts out about 180-190.

well heres what im thinking. A stock 12a with headers should be like 100 rwhp or so right? Then doesnt the sidedraft add a rediculous amount of power like 30 hpish. Then I was thinking the Streetport may be able to make up the rest. Are you talking about hp at the wheels or flywheel?

ummm actually according to the rotaryshack website:
12A Weber intake kit(48DCOE)

This kit includes ( 1) 48 Weber DCOE carb with linkage, intake
manifold, velocity stacks, air filters ,all nessisary gaskets/o-rings needed
to complete the job this kit will work best on stock motors with exhaust and or ignition upgrades.. Ads up to 60 hp over the origonal Nikki carburator!

This kit will work best on streetported motors or someone that is seeking maxium high RPM power output with poor low RPM response from a stock motor. ads 80-120 hp depending on engine porting and carb jetting

So with a header, streetport and weber it looks like 200 is possible... according to the rotaryshack #'s

when it comes to numbers...everything is possible....it just all depends on how good the person thats tuning everything is.....if its tuned perfectly to a "T" then ya ur going to get the max outta it.....o by the way im not thrashing ur numbers i think that ull get around the 200whp mark with ur setup up.......im getting ready to turbo my 12a and a lot of people told me that ill be lucky to get 250.....which makes no sense b/c im running:

streetported 12a
holley 600cfm carb
complete 3" exhaust
garret t04b turbo
Tial 38mm wastegate
HKS bov

and some more engine power components......the best advice is that u can assume ull get the 200whp mark...but dyno that thing b/c i think ull actually be shocked if u come out with a little over the 200.......thats my 2 cents...which will get thrashed in less then 2 hours....parker
