Fumes

Just recently I've started to get fumes of partially burnt fuel into my car (I know I've heard that others get this regularly....but I hadn't). I've done some mods recently (2gen fuseblock, 2GCDFIS, S5 alternator) but I can't see how they could cause a problem.... I DID notice the smell almost immediately after I changed my fuel filter, but I've looked underneath and nothing is leaking....Could that have made it run overly rich?
It's not the worst thing, but it is annoying.

The filter shouldnt matter since the carb regulates the fuel going into the engine. Hows your charcoal canister?

The usual cause of this is a worn seal around the tail light assembly. But since your issue started suddenly, I'm not sure if that would apply....
