Fuel tank interchange information
Trending Topics
I have a bolt-on feed and return line section that came in the trunk area of my '83, and had assumed that it fit the tank in the car until now. I noticed the lines were smaller than the '84 SE tank lines that I've got, so I'm assuming that the bolt-in section is for an '84-'85 model with a 12a. Any comments? Doc-(or anybody that knows for sure)I'm swapping in the complete dash and instrument cluster from the '84 SE into my '83 GS, what will it take to get the "low fuel" light to operate properly with my swap? Thanks for the info, guys...

inuissus_cendi, nope.
wotnartd, check Mazdatrix. The prices for a new tank are sky-high. A new S2 pickup is only $72. A new S3 pickup is over a hundred because it included the low fuel light sender.
bugman1973, 'all 84-85 tanks are the same except for one difference. The GSL-SE tank has a sump cup and the 12A tank does not. Also the bolt-in pickup tube thing has larger tubes on the GSL-SE.
rxforspeed, you assumed correctly. It is from a 12A model. I think Steve has some information about the low fuel light.
