fuel pump ?s

I'm trying to figure out how the FBs fuel system is setup. Does it have a in tank pump? Mines a 1980 if that matters.

I have an 82 and an 83 and both have inline fuel pumps...don't know if that helps. I haven't had the joy of working on any older than that. I feel stupid with the last question, but although I can work on my car better than any man in the town where I live, I don't know alot of the abbreviated terms...Hell, half the time I couldn't tell you what a part is called...just what it does and how to fix it!

external fuel pump mounted on the driver side under the car. system uses a return line and a vent line that run underneath the car.

I recommend that you get a Haynes manual and read it from front to back.

You will reference it many, many times, that's for sure......for the 80, just turn the key until all the idiot lights come on, but don't start the engine. Step outside of the car and then follow the whirring noise next to the driver's side tire to find the actual fuel pump.

If it's a Carter, there will be a gawdawful horrendous noise...

The closest you are going to get in reference pictures is either a repair manual or the FSM.

well seeing as how I've already routed new fuel lines, fixed alot of dude's crap, and custom made a bunch of this v8 swap...idk might have gotten dirty a time or two. wore gloves most the time though.

anyways...I was hopeing to figure out which lines in went where without droping the tank to find out. I'm only needing to run one line to the front without a return line, just dont know which one to use. This would probaly be simpler if dude man wouldn't have rigged it up the way he did.

The biggest diameter line is fuel going from tank to engine.

The smaller diameter line is fuel returning from engine back to the tank.
