Fuel problem

Hey guys,

For the past couple of weeks, I've been having a fuel starvation problem... It's gotten a little better with some of the repairs I've tried, but I can't get it to go away all together... Doing a pull from a standing start, I end up emptying the float bowls at the top of third... I then have to get off of it for a few seconds and wait for them to fill back up... The car has a new Mazda fuel pump, and all new rubber lines under the car... Oh, new fuel filter of course... I was actually able to get the problem to go away for a couple weeks, but it's back again... Tomorrow night, I'm going to try changing the fuel filter again... Do you guys think it could be a clogged line? If so, how should I go about fixing it? Any other ideas on what might be happening?

Dan

if its a clogged line you could take the line off the tank and pump/filter and blow some compressed air through the lines.

have you tested your flow rate and pressure at the carb? take the fuel line off the carb and run it into a 2-liter bottle for 1 min. it should be a little over 1/2 full (1100 mL to be exact). also, the pump should run at between 3.7 and 4.7 PSI.

I'm assuming I should disconnect the lines from the carb when I do this too, right?

If that doesn't fix it, any other ideas?

maybe the pick-up line in the tank, it could be colgged with rust from the inside of your tank. If it is make sure you flush and re-seal the tank before you put it back in (or replace it)

other than that, I have no idea why you wouldnt be getting enough fuel
