Fuel pressure gauge

I am thinking about installing a fuel pressure gauge on my cowl. Kind like some of the prostock I have seen. Has anyone done an install like this? I just wanna watch my fuel pressure now that I got a new regulator and my carb rebuilt. I was thinking about the autometer #4311.

OK explain to me what a dry break kit is first. RESpeed gauge looks cheap and cant be mounted on the cowl. The autometer I might be getting for free from a friend that is gonna swich his 5.0 back to EFI. What other gauges would be worth the money. I DO NOT WHAT A GAUGE THE STAYS IN THE ENGINE BAY. Seems like a waste to me.

i researched FP gauges for a while. i had thought about putting one in the cabin, but after researched i found out autometer gauges arent that accurate. thats kind of known info. just search. look on yawpower.com. paul yaw is a brilliant guy who DEFINATELY knows his stuff and he had a gauge for sale but he got jam pakced with orders and started dealing solely with racing, iirc. i think he states on his site about how the autometer fp gauge is inaccurate.

billy(respeed) said the gauges are very close to perfectly accurate, off my +-1%, which isnt even really enough to notice on the street. the dry break kit is so you can have the gauge attached and remove it without shooting fuel all over the place. i have mine attached but its seen little run time. i have removed it and installed it while the engine is running though and its does a great job.

id recommend this route. have the dry break kit, install the gauge, tune, and when youre finished remove the gauge. just keep it in your glove box, house, garage, etc. easy, accurate, and good to go.

why keep it on? if you have a regulator your pressure shouldnt fluctuate, should it? once you set it, you dont really wouldnt need to see it anymore, i wouldnt think.

btw, since youre in kentucky we should meet up some time.

The only hood gauge I've ever cared for was the old Pontiac tach. I have a friend that mounted an fp gauge on the cowl of his TII, did my best to disuade him from doing it. Not my style.

As long as you mounted it with the dry-break kit (which allows quick removal of the gauge) then you could just put it on when you needed to, then remove it for a clean (and tamper proof) look...

The gauge from Respeed is great, I don't think you'll find a better one at any price.
