fuel line sizes

Ok, so I'm buying a Carter fuel pump with a 1/4" NPT inlet and outlet, and a Holley pressure regulator with a 3/8" NPT inlet and outlet. I plan on using the stock fuel line, which is 5/16" (right?). Oh and this is to feed a Sterling carb. Will this work? Are those discrepancies small enough that it wont matter?

Thanks, and forgive me for the stupid questions.

the pump puts out 8 psi max but I'll regulate it down to 2 to 2.5 psi right before the carb.

Just run it at 4.5 until you can get the smaller one. Shouldnt be TOO bad.
