fuel injectors??
hello guys i just bought an 85 fb 13b and i have been trying to figure out the reason why my car isn't starting? i checked all the wiring and put everything in its place the previous owner had the car sitting for about a little more than 5yrs. i flushed the fuel and changed the fuel pump and the car still wont start. it cranks well and it will only start if i spray starting fluid into the intake and the car will turn off right after that. as long as i hold the starting fluid the car stays on so i was thinking that there might not be fuel getting into the engine but i checked the gas line that goes into the engine and gas does flow so that leaves me with the injectors. anybody have any idea what it might be? i would really appreciate all the help i can get this is my first rotary car and i am really interested in learning more and getting all the help i can thank you.

All of my rotaries are carb'd. But Im pretty sure I remember people having issues with the injectors. There is a company you can send them out to to have them repaired and flow checked, but I don't remember. Did you change the fuel filter? That is also an issue with a car that sat a long time

You haven't confirmed that you replaced the fuel filter. That should be first. Download the 84 Factory service manual from here. 13B fuel system is section 4B.

When I had this happen to another car of mine (not an rx7), I had to test the fuel pressure that it is receiving. Just because there is fuel flowing doesn't always mean you're getting the right amount. A bad fuel filter is usually the cause of the fuel pressure not being at the psi it needs to be. And it is a cheap fix. Instead of paying a bunch of money to go get them checked, you can get a tool to check this to make sure you're getting the correct fuel pressure first. But of course it is all up to you, and which you feel it most likely is.
