Fuel gauge not working

I have a 13b 6 port bridge swapped 1984 gsl, the fuel gauge hasn't worked since I've bought the car 3 years ago when it had the 12a still installed, the gauge I can recall working once when I hit a hefty bump. So makes me think it's wiring considering the fact I've found 3 mice in the car that died by chewing on wires.

I'm mainly needing to know where the wires run and where the fuel level sending unit is located. Any input is highly appreciated!

Fuel level sending Unit is on the driver's side of the gas tank. Can be accessed by removing the panel behind the left rear wheel.
