I am planning on converting my 12a to a 13b street port sometime in the up coming months. A buddy of mine is taking his 13b out and swapping to a T2 so I decided to buy his old setup at a price I couldn't refuse. Expect many photos over the coming months of the progress of my second rx7.
Here is the Street port engine that is going to end up in my Roturd. Comes with 48 down draft webber with racing beat intake along with RB header and rebuilt transmission. Also have MSD ignition that will go on after the engine is installed and running good. Also going to be switching to a ebay radiator since mine has a broken mount.
This weekend I am planning on replacing all the door seals, all the radiator hoses and the radiator itself. I am replacing the rear brakes finally and also installing the Banzai racing dual pulley setup along with there alternator tensioner. Finally I will have working windshield wipers again hopefully as long as the switch works on the column. I will be taking photos of everything and will post them up on here Sunday or Monday.
Side note: I was wonder what size the stock wheel was so I had a good reference to pick out one from NRG.
So I got everything installed that I had ordered. Sadly I got the rear brakes off and the pin in the caliper is froze up so I am ordering new calipers to go on this weekend. Ebay special radiator works well and fit well. Here is what I got done:
Banzai racing dual pulley set
A/C working
Wiper motor
Radiator with new hoses
Things left to do:
Door seals
Rear Brakes
Alignment
Engine Swap
Today the spending continues. I bought a universal Racing Beat 2.5" muffler and the K&N Weber IDA kit for my turd. RB is expensive but this is the end of the purchases that I have to make for the car. Whoooooo!!!!!!!
Next time I will see the car will be at the next AX. Then it will be on a trailer back to where I live for the swap.
Just dropping in to show the work I got done on the headers this weekend. They had some surface rust that wasn't going to come off so I scrubbed them down and painted them black with 2000 degree rattle paint. They turned out nice and should look great in the bay next to the motor.
Went and did some more autocross a couple of weekends ago. Fun time especially since it rained while we were on lunch break and changed the course feel up dramatically.
So the amount of parts I have laying around is starting to get out of hand. I am getting excited for the swap and hopefully will be coming up soon. Here is a preview of some of the parts I have.
Will do. Here is the current status of what I am working on. Its been slow since I am having to do the swap in a buddy's basement since I live in an apartment. Plan to start pulling the motor this coming weekend.
Hey guys in the next week I should have the video of me and my buddy installing the new to me engine. But while you wait here are some photos for you to drool over!!!
