heres what you do... take a small hammer... and a strong broad chisel... place the chisel at an angle pressing in the direction to loosen the bolt... (350 ft/lbs torque is a b#$%) a couple quik blows and it spins... a wrench will do the rest... the ding in the nut can be filed or the nut can be replaced.. use a thin washer and bend up a side to lock the nut back on when you replace it.... its tit

yeah.. i went and got a craftsman socket, used it, and made sure that when I bought I mentioned that I "wasn't sure what size exactly", then used it, cleaned it up, and took it back.

Sears has them available for $20. If you'd like i can let you borrow mine, but please return it when you're finished, if you don't mind for waiting for it to be shipped i can send it out probably tomorrow. I only ask in return that you cover shipping for it to be returned and include the a few extra dollars to cover it to be shipped to you.

The one i got from sears was $20, but i had the same problem of going everywhere and trying to find one for cheaper. There is no way around it though, even if you will be able to take the nut off without the socket, you still need it to put it back on...at least do it right so it won't pop off.

Last year I spent $75 @ Sears and got the correct 2 1/8" socket that is 3/4" drive and the appropriate long super sturdy breaker-bar. Craftsman brand life long warranty of course.
Went to Home Depot and bought a huge diameter 4' long steel pipe to slide over the breaker bar. Leverage really helps remove that puppy!
An investment in the future! If you were in SoCal I'd lend it to you.

I use an air compressor for the nut also...pop pop pop and its off, just like that...i love that thing. I'm using the craftsman impact gun with 500 max tourqe. I'm like Tim the Toolman with it, when i lift it up i can feel the POWER
