Front driver's seat - 1984 rx7 gsl 12a

Can anyone please tell me the procedure for removing the driver's seat. When in position, the seat rocks a bit on one side like there's a bolt loose somewhere. What do I need to do in order to get the seat nice and tight again so when I slide it forward or backward there's no rocking on the left side?

Thanks

Pull it out then look at the bottom rails and see if one of the screws is loose or missing.

O.K., but I also noticed that the BACK of the seat itself is loose on it's left side. You can hold it by the headrest and shake it back and forth. Is there any way to solve that as well?

Thanks

Many times the seat rails have worn out over the years.

If tightening the four mounting bolts to the floor doesn't help, try tightening the hardware that holds the hinge in place. If neither of those help, it could be the four bolts that hold the rails to the seat bottom. You'll need to take the seat out to get to those.

There are four bolts, one on each end of the seat rails. You will find them right where the seat rails mount to the body of the car. I believe that they are all 12mm bolts. Get a ratchet and a 12mm socket. Remove the four bolts. Use the seat adjuster to lean the back of the seat all the way forward. It is easier to lift the seat out of the car when it is leaned forward. Open the driver door all the way so you have plenty of room. Lift the seat out of the car, being careful not to scratch the paint or damage the vinyl on the door panels. The seat rails have a way of hitting things on the way out so be careful.

It's really as easy as it sounds. It's just four bolts, and you're done.

my only addition to what Glazedham42 mentioned is that i reccomend a 3"extension when removing the seat bolts. i also use a deep well socket but that's just my preference.

when you have teh seat out, turn it upside down. there are two bolts holding each seat rail on. they are also 12mm. be sure you tighten them while the seat is out, as they have a tendance to work themselves loose.
