Front Clip Modification

Just wondering if anyone else has done this, and if so; what experiences they could share on getting there. This makes me drool every time I look at it, and would like MINE to be the one others would drool at
Thanks

Looks to be entirely fiberglass. Not sure if the Stock hood hinges would support the weight or be the right pivot point for it.

There's a sketchy little company out of Toronto call "Showcar Bodykits" and they should have the entire body kit for that car in there endless rows of fiberglass Molds. I got a tour of their facility, and it's hectic to say the least. The guy has endless amounts of random old wacky fiberglass body kits, but he's extremely disorganized. Mad Scientist kind of feel to it.

Thanks for the input Quinn. "Sketchy" does NOT sound appealing! I assumed from the looks it is a fiberglass clip, but thought it an interesting idea if I could do something similar with the stock front end. I know ANYTHING is possible if one wants to spend the money. I would mainly desire one for points at a show, seeing i do not know how it would improve functionality of the car...

I've seen a lot of the Euro Lowrider guys do it one a number of 80's uni-bodies. Your in Florida, there's a strong Lowrider culture there and should have a few shops who have done it.
It's not to complex, the hood and fender are both bolted to a bracket so that they cannot separate. The bumper/cowl and hood are all bolted together with brackets as well.

Your fenders will have to be trimmed in the center, as they curve under the car, most of the flip noses have them cut behind the front wheel, just a thin split horizontally to the door. The FB trim is perfect as it can hide the cut line well.

I doubt the original pivot point, for the hood will work, or support the weight, but it'd probably be moved forwards and down to pull the nose away from the car when tilting forward.

I've seen a few where the hood still opens even when the nose is tilted forwards.

You could possibly use the same hinges transport use for their front body work or even some of the tilting cab forwards.

It's very nice looking, but seems rather impractical unless it opens a lot wider than that.

I totally agree and would want the front to drop more in front of the vehicle...almost to the ground.
