Front Brake Rotor & Hub Swap?

Ive seen a few things online suggesting the front rotors on the FB are dificult to replace, but nothing on how to do so. I have not pulled it apart, but I didnt see anything in the service manual about it. Anybody know anything more about them?

Because the wheel bearing hub is part of the rotor, it'll be in the Wheels & Tires section of the manual instead of Brakes.

It's a simple procedure to replace the front rotors. You will likely have to install new inner and outer races for the wheel bearings in the new rotors before assembly. With that said, it's best to replace the wheel bearings at the same time. Typically, the new bearings come with new races, which will be need to be seated into the corresponding hub section of the rotor. You will need to pack the new bearings with fresh grease and clean and lubricate the spindle before assembly. You'll need to seat the bearings when torquing the spindle nut and then torque them to spec using a spring scale. I've done so many over the years that I typically can torque them by feel after seating the bearings. Once you do them once, you'll have it down. It's pretty straightforward. Feel free to ask any questions you have that come up during the procedure.

Do you have a specific part number for the bearings and races or a brand that you typically use when replacing them? I ordered new rotors and tried to install them today, but the bearings and races on the car now don't fit with the new rotor.

I have confirmed the rotors for my year and trim level too, so I'm unsure of why there is a difference...

I replied to you other thread. Be aware that RockAuto is notorious for advertising a part will fit and it's not the correct part. The supplier will get years mixed up.

I wrnt with the OEM Mazda bearings in my 85 and they have held up perfectly since 2008. I would recommend getting the OEM bearings. They are not made by Mazda, just supplied to them. I can't remember the company off the top of my head but I believe they are made by Koyo.
