gotcha beat. i weigh in at a whopping 125 and my gf at 96. oh yeah.
Haha, thats weird. I weigh 115, and my ex-gf weighs 86...Exactly 10 lbs less on each side...Hmmm...Oh well, I figure my car drives faster that way .
On the subject of weight, has anyone ever noticed the 340lb occupant weight rating on the edge of the driver's door?

Just curious...

Yeah, actually I have. I found it looking for the total vehical weight (which surpisingly enough to me, is 100 lbs LESS than an FD!!). I use it as a cheap excuse to not take more than one person for a ride...I just dont want **** in the car to get broken ya know? It just want made for more than two...At least mine wasnt .
(which surpisingly enough to me, is 100 lbs LESS than an FD!!)
Back to this (haha, I quoted myself from the same post im writing in)...Isint it mind boggling to think that the FD has what, 255 HP and 217 ft/lbs of torque stock, and yet it weights 100 LBS less than our cars? No wonder theyre so damn fast .

The FD is nowhere near as light as a 1st-gen! The HEAVIEST 1st-gens weigh about 2650lb. The LIGHTEST FDs are about 2800lb. Most SA/FBs are in the 2400lb range, most FDs are in the 2900lb range.

back to the mods..

me and my dad did a ram air/cold air mod. some heat ducting and drilled a 4" hole where the coolant canister is right off the radiator brace. stuck a heating fitting in it, and had some heating ducting directed to the intake inlet. so its sucking air from the front of the car near the ground. some duct tape and some cutting. i dont notcie much when its hot, but when its cold outside its touchier. but i think with a high flow air cleaner and some exhaust work, it will be worth it.

yep im at 130 lbs and my girlfriend is around 120 lbs
so were at 250 lbs
guess that means i can get back seats and throw in one of her hot friends that weighs under 100 lbs

dont know with the luxo model though "leather seats, fully loaded 12a,w/ power steering" my weight limit is probably less

The door says MAXIMUM weight, not vehicle weight.

So the weight of the vehicle + passengers + all the crap in the back is a maximum of 2900lb. Any more than that and you're technically overloading the vehicle.

- you can cut up your airbox to get more flow to your filter.

- disconnecting the air pump makes the car feel a couple hundred lbs lighter in the low-end.

- DLIDFIS can be done for not a lot of money, if you can find a cheap ignitor/coil and have some wiring laying around.

Any ideas what a GSL-SE would weigh without A/C, PS, and all heat sheilds, all that crap under carpets etc. removed? Just a general idea so i can input it on the G-Tech

I've heard porting the intake has big gains in it... Atleast for the 13b's...And it doesn't seem like THAT much work....Might try it soon

what diaphram spring are you all refering to as far as removal? that nething to do with the gsl-se? i have an 84 se and am curious as to whether or not this mod is for me. also, my 7 only has a headliner 2 sparco racing seats console, doorpanels and dash left as far as interior. HUGE difference!!! no more creature comforts, but hey im cutting seconds.
on the lighter side ,for more serious mods , i suggest the removal of all paint(shiny metal..drool-until it rusts..then its a pretty brownish red), windshield wipers (cough::rain-x::cough), pedals(thats what shoes are for), seats (milkcrates), remove half of ur lugnuts(all that matters is weight), the windshield, bumpers, hood , license plate, fenders, rear glass. hows that for free mods?????

Yeap.

I done it a couple times for school related projects. The second time was a test for consistency of the scale.

Anyway, with myself, ~1/2tank of fuel, and everything I've pulled out of the car.........2350lbs. I weigh in a 178lbs so 2200lbs by it self.

They had the track scales open on the last month of test-n-tune at Norwalk, that's how I know that my car weighed 2400lb with me in it. Then I stepped off the scale and the car itself weighed 2210.

That's with basically removing the broken trim in the back, spare tire/jack, and the passenger seat.
