Free car came home, well $50 car
After talking to the guy on the phone and getting all the info i could and a good time to pick up the car it has arrived home. I gave the guy 50.00 just for adjusting his schedual and such to meet mine. she will sit for a couple monthes while she is brought back to road worthiness. That and I swap everything from my 85 GSL into the 83 GSL. Other than the messed up fender this is a very straight and rust free car. There is a good deal of paint fade along the top portions. Still cant figure what was going through mazda's mind with the god awful red interior. I will be taking all of that out and replacing it with the very attractive grey interior.
Forgive the pics its almost pitch black outside minus a dim street light.

85 shell will be going to a junkyard after I pull all the stuff off. So the turbo 85 GSL project just got renamed 83 GSL. Road worthy a gas tank and a battery will help me find out more.
Pretty much the plan for this one is if it dont make the engine run or the lights work it comes out.

hmmm...that fender doesn't look too bad...I had one like that once and it just popped out...you could still tell it had been dented but alittle bondo and fresh paint and no one will know the wiser...

Well, i went to the nu finish web site and found that if the oxidation is sever you'll need an oxidation remover. I searched ebay and found some oxidation remover, so Ill try that first. Ill get some daytime beore and after pics to see how it goes.
If the clear coat is starting to peel off that stuff is not going to help to much. It looks like your hood is pretty far gone but for the rest of the car where it looks white and ashy it wll work great. I usually use maguires 3 step proces with the paint cleaner/ or oxidation remover then a polish and last there wax.
Work in small section at a time and follow the directions some say that you should let the dry to a haze after you apply then buff it off. I would just go with the first step (paint cleaner) and then use the Nu-Finish. Your car with look a lot shinnier but dont exspect mirricals on the hood or roof.
