the reason your bleeding it?! to remove that air in the system... whats the issue? as long as it clears up and starts comming out straight fluid no issue. how are you "bleeding" the clutch?

That clutch system is tricky, be sure you are using a proven method (and post it here when you find out what it is!)

I use a double system of vacuum at the slave cylinder bleeding valve and having someone pump the clutch peddle while I briefly open the bleeder valve. Kind of a pain but it works.

2 Questions. Has the old DOT 3 been completely flushed out and how old are the clutch hydraulics. If this has been an ongoing problem, i.e., needing frequent bleeding, it may be time to replace the entire system. Changing to a different fluid on an old system can cause problems and leaks.

Im bleeding my clutch with one guy pumping and the other opening and closing the bleed valve

Yes the old dot 3 was compleatly flushed out the clutch hydraulics are compleatly stock from 82 but no corrosion or anything they look to be in good shape no leaks or cracks and yes its been a frequent problem i find that the longer/harder i drive the car is when it happens ill open the fill and its maxed but then as soon as we go to bleed it the foam comes again i think it might be becaus of the max operating temp of the dot 3

I think im going to use a dot 4 or 5 maybe castrol and see how that works

Has anyone ever had this problem before??

Changing fluid won't help, one of the internal seals is giving out and air is entering the system. Time to replace master, slave and the hose with a braided SS one. Failure in the heat simply indicates the system is close to failing all the time.

Yeah, more then likely you have an internal failure in the master but I would replace all the parts to be on the safe side. There is only one way for air to enter the system and changing to a different type of fluid wont do anything for ya.
