Flywheel Key Question

Hello Folks,
I am having a problem putting the flywheel on. Each time I do this the key pushes back in the keyway. What do you think of using a drop of super glue to hold in place while I put the flywheel on?
Thanks ~ JEB

That's odd. I've never had that problem before. Maybe your flywheel has something wrong with its slot.

I think the key is actually supposed to push back a bit. I don't think mine was sitting in the center of the slot. As long as you can still put the flywheel on it it should be okay.

Jeff, the flywheel just came off another car and looked ok.
I am concerned that could push back into the bearing.

it shouldn't have too much play in it. are you sure its the correct key and was not swapped by someone else prior? it will have to sit back a tad like coldy13 said, but shouldn't push back like you describe.

The key is round on the bottom so it holds onto the E shaft and won't get pushed into the bearing.
