need slim electric fan!

The 3.8L taurus fan is NOT going into my car either as a puller or pusher.

I'm now looking for a slim <3" 14" or better fan with at least 1500 cfm. The taurus had 2000. Any ideas or help will be appreciated.

Also, does anyone know the CFM rating for our mechanical fan?

I thought the taurus was almost a direct fit?

Click on "How-to"; then click on the little red arrows next to "Electric fan replacement".

I copied this installation upon a recent bad fan clutch. Black Magic pulls 2800 CFM. (They come in red and blue, too, btw.)

I had a black magic fan (awesome), but it was too deep (4.25 inches) to work with my power steering and A/C.

I went with two 12" SPAL fans, and they are only 2.5 inches deep. They put out 1500cfm each. I had to modify the radiator supports to make them fit though.

I should have gone with two 10" fans, which would have bolted up perfectly, without modification, but put out a little less CFM.

apparently not for freaky 80 models where the radiator seems to be thicker than the 84-85 model.

hmmm...10" fans are only 650cfm each. What about 2 12" fans in a push/pull configuration? 2.48" each and 1268 cfm each.

I am running a 16" Mr Gasket and pulls around 2400 cfm. The fan is a little large and overhangs on oil cooler but no interference problems. Even able to reinstall factory shrouding. Also ran a Flex a lite adjustable thermostat works awesome.
