Flush Mount Stereo Surround Done

Well after seeing all $100T2s how toos, I got inspired to do some more work on my 7. I desided to flush mount my stero and gauges in the center surround. I did some work before and I thought it turned ok nice.

I just made another trim out of 1/32" plastic sheet. Glued the new and old together and trimmed to fit. I then filled all the gaps around it with Bondo. After lots of sanding(I could have done more), I hit it off with a coat of paint.

I know it is simple looking change, but I think it cleans the dash up nice and makes it look like an OEM finish with out the lines running aroung the trim.

The paint I used is actualy a metalic that gives the ruff finish you see. Its Rustoleum Hammered metal finish. It matches the color of the car and gives it a ruff metalic look.

uhm you know you can detach everything from the face so it is only the plastic none of the dial faces or butons..... it kind of looks tacky with the ash tray all painted up. and all the over spray on the dials. sorry i am just ****

i painted mine with a satin (sp) black and sand papered it with 600 grit and water, its nice but it needs a little touch up and a leather shift boot

Dirty, I painted the ash try over on purpose, did not like the words anyway. I will get that tiny bit of stuff around the dials.
