you could make a kit also that did not include lamps, but would fit lights off of another car, like a 92 camaro, or an 80 280 z, that way it would be much less expensive, and the buyer could buy the lights at a junkyard, or........wherever they found them for cheap. just an idea.

I think there could be quite a few people interested in flush mounts if the price could be in the range you sugested 150-350 for the set. you could sell a dyi kit. where you sell the housing and the buyer uses lights from another car that way you have lamps and reflectors already bright anuff to avoid that tree before mentioned and that way you have lights that have been tried and tested. there are several cars you could scavange reflector assemblies off, say lights off an acura integra might be about the right size. its just a mater of finding the right size ones. they would look mutch better off set . the inside ones should be brought out and the out side ones setback like the ones for the 3rd gen. if any one has some pics of some flush lightson a firs gen please post them here.

Manntis, that is the first flush headlight FB I've ever thought looked cool and original as opposed to simply modern (which is not my cup of chai). I still like pop-up lights, tho.

there was a write up floating around the forum a while ago on how to modify the sleepy eyed miata kits to fit a first gen.. you could probably do the same thing to the flush kits... just wish i knew where that write up is... i am sure someone here remembers where it came from

Are you guyz interested in flush lights just wanting to replace broke pop-up lights, or are you actually wanting to replace working units with these??? It just looks too much like rice to me, even when done tastefully.

been trying to figure out how to make one that gives a good beam pattern, doesn't require cutting into the bulkhead, and is inexpensive. Seems I can only get 2 out of 3...

For christs sake people, just go to home depot, buy some plexiglass, cut it to shape, get some sheet aluminum and some autozone headlights, and slap it all together Total cost of like $15-20 and you have flush mount lights

Its the headlights thats the problem here. You need good illumination and still be able to fit it into the space you have to work with.

Am I the only one that cares about adequate lighting? I actually take my car on the highway between cities, and headlighs become the difference between arriving in one piece or splattered through the torso of a small elk.
