flowmaster exhaust.

Alrighty tomorrow morning im getting my catalytic converter removed. Right now my car is not very loud. I have a flowmaster 80 series muffler on it. Will it be too loud with just pipe coming from the exhaust manifold to the muffler? I was thinking about getting rb presilencer but that abotu 200 dollars :O

I have a racing beat header, presilencer and a flowmaster. I hate the way it sounds and it is way to ******* loud. So I imagine with just a straight pipe were the cat is it would be unbareable. I just can't afford to redo system right now.

u hate it?? haha is it the flowmaster? Mine sounds pretty good especially when i let off the gas going down hill. I still have the stock manifold so maybe i should hold off on the RB header this summer. what kind of flowmaster u got?

I have a straight pipe with a stock exhaust mani, and a primaflow, it is quiet.
I believe the header makes a big difference, as it is recommended by RB to use a presilencer with a header, and a primaflow.

the 80 series is really quiet. remember that with flowmaster what type you have really changes the note of the car.i had a 40 series on a built civic I had, and it sounded awesome. Everyone loved it. But know that the rotary heat will kill your flowmaster especially the higher series. i wouldn't expect it to last much more than 2 years.

Rotorheads don't use them because they don't last long under the rotary's punishment.

Flowmaster is the worse you can put on a rotary,

I will be using an ApexiN1 style muffler on my next set up.I know it will be loud,But I want it less restrictive, and I also have a e cut out.

You want a good less restrictive muffler.

dude it's been said 3 times in this thread allready. Okay #4 they will not last more than 2 years tops then it's going to rattle apart all the baffles inside the muffler and it's going to sound like there is a rattle attached to the car.

I had a dual runner RB street port exhaust built with a flowmaster muffler. I HATED LISTENING TO IT FOR EVERY SECOND! The flowmaster muffler will draun on for ever, you couldnt even have a convo in the car.

o btw.. I was using 2 24 inch pre silencers

I have the RB header, no cats, custom exhaust, mindtrain presilenser, and the RB muffler, and I love the way my car sounds, It is a little loud at full trottle, but a cruising it isn't too bad. (My friend's Camaro SS with full SLP exaust headers back is MUCH louder. I can't even hear my car when I'm behind him!)

I don't know what series it is (it was free), all i know is i hate the way it sounds and it is way to damn loud. I have no interior either so it makes it that much worse. I will be replacing it soon with something else. It is to the point I don't even wanna drive the car anymore till I get a new muffler. I would honestly rather have a stock muffler then this one.

I bottomed out and ripped my old on off (long story). This one came off of a truck and it was quiet on the truck but not on the RX-7.I will most likely go with a racing beat, because my freinds FC with racing beat exhaust was quiet. But first I have to find a entire exhaust for my FC.

i have a rb header and 2.5" pipes all the way back w/ a random technology cat, a cherry bomb glass pack (was added later on after dyno max presilencer was destroyed by animal on road), and dynomax muffler. All of which are straight through design and no pipe has more than a 30 degree bend. I tried the header, cat and two chamber flow master ( think it was a 40 series) but it was like beating on a tin can.... I just could not take it!!!!

You can debate this all ya want, but you just can't beat a full racing beat exhaust. Absolutely ORGASMIC at any rpm, more so from 5000 on.

definetly worth it! the couple hp you give using the powerpulse muffler doesn't matter!
