fixed my dash lights........

read an earlier post about splicing together the r/blue and r/green wires that attach to the dimer switch, well i did just that and by jove it worked....next task is to get the backup lights working,,, being laid off work give me too much time to fix stuff.......

Fixed mine too.... someone had connected the power and ground wires for the automatic shifter's lights together (they just sit there doing nothing in a 5-speed car) which of course will blow the fuse, and if you keep replacing fuses, will eventually fry the transistor in the dimmer module. Solution was to cut the dimmer module completely off and just connect the two red wires (red/blue and red/green I think?) together. The black wire is a ground for the transistor in the dimmer unit, unnecessary when the dimmer is bypassed.

Now I have a place to put the driving light switch And a power source too! Power source for a relay, that is... put the relay up by the battery and just use the I/P lighting power as the relay control circuit. That way there's no need for a heavy duty switch or heavy wiring going from battery to dash and back, adding lots of resistance and heat...
