GSL and GSL-SE rear axle compatabilty?

are the 84-85 GSL and GSL-SE axle a compatiable swap. with the wheel bolt pattern being the only difference?
I need to know if I can put 84-85 GSL axles into my GSL-SE housing.
I see that the bearings are the same between the 2.
thanks

According to the article at Mazspeed, yeah the axles just swap right in...
of course you have to use the appropriate rotors/calipers, but I think you could also just redrill the -SE axles to 4x110, or something close enough so that the lug bolts/studs will go through.

You know how EASY it would be to convert the GSL to -SE brakes? (New rotors all round, calipers all round, axles, and that's it) But then I'd have to give up my 13" stickies

Are the rear caliper hangers the same on the SE? Or is the differance in rotor width made up in the caliper?

swap

the axel housing is the same and yes the caliper makes up for the difference b/t the vented (SE) and the non-vented (GSL). it is a fairly time consuming process but can be done by any...well, just about anyone. might as well swap the front too for the same bolt pattern..4 nuts on top, 2 bolts on bottom and disconnect the rubber caliper line from the supply and have any wheel you want...as long as its 4x4.5 pattern.

Wow, you take the whole strut out just to change the rotor?
