Fitting drivers side fender?

well i bought a fender from a guy local, took the old off put the new on, everythign lines up pretty well, except there a noticably large gap between the door and the fender, maybe liek 1/2-3/4 inch...from looking at the passeneger side its noticable. I loosened all the bolts and pushed the fender as far as i could toward teh door but nothing really.

'78 to '80 same fender. '81 to '85, different fender. I ran into a simalar problem with my '83. I tried to use a '80 fender, and I wouldn't have noticed it untill I tried to put the left side of my body kit back on. About 1/2 inch differance in the fender well opening. If you look the parts up in a book, they are listed as seperate part numbers. Hope this helps.

Check the door gaps all the way around the door. If those are spaced evenly and the door has no issues, you may need to check the frame. Describe or post pics of the previous damage.
