First time Rebuild: Corner seals won't spring up

Hi all

First time rebuilding and am starting to assemble the rotors. I got the Mazda OEM rebuild kit (with standard corner seal springs)and I am pre assembling the rotors and 2 of the corner seals are too tight. They go down into the corner slots but don't spring up like the others.

Also I am clearencing with an apex seal to make sure they are lined up correctly but these same 2 Corner seals require you to force the apex seal into place (makes a clicking sound once they go into place). All others you can slide the apex seal through nice and smooth.

Should I adjust the corner seals at all? The cavities for the corner seals are clean and free of carbon.

Thanks!

Disregard, took some fine grid sandpaper and sanded out the corner seal holes and they fit perfect. There was some light scratches from fitting the side seals that I found where it was catching up.

Use FD corner springs. You'll thank me. Also plenty of brand name Vaseline.

Or RX-8 springs. They aren't as stiff, less drag, and wear things less. They can also handle high RPM fine. Cheaper too.

I haven't tried RX8 springs yet... I'll keep that in mind on my next build.
