First post & need help on lightweight glass

Dear all,

I a newbie to the forum but not 1st gen RX7's. By way of very quick background, I compete in Australia in Tarmac rallies.

My car started life as a 1981 sII, but here's a summary of changes so far:

caged
2-way adjustable Koni's
lot's of front end work (-2.9 neg camber and -5.5 castor)
lot's & lot's of rear end work (so now it truely does work)
bridge ported 12a
CR gearbox in original housing to comply with rules (1st is where 5th was and 5th is 1:1)
15 x 7" with Dunlop DZ02G
Weber ida 48
seats, harnesses, rally computer etc. And much more......

My question is lightweight glass replacement. I'm moving up to the next class which means 13b and 100kgs less weight. Anyone know where (in the world) I can buy polycarbonate rear and side replacements??

Many thanks.

You're lucky I just learned about this page a few days ago.
I don't think they have side windows.
Just the rear quarter panels and hatch.

if youre more custom, i know www.mariahmotorsports.com has a pic of a racecar which appears to have a wraparound lexan rear (like old 944 glass)... that would be amazing, and not too hard to fab from a single lexan sheet.

Where are you from over there, I used to live in Rowville, Victoria. What class is the car running under, my old Rx3 was in Group 2E

Cheers Aussiemg - I live in Bentleigh VIC and run the car in Targa Tas, just did Classic Adelaide, Mt. Buller Sprint (hence the need for a 13b) and also manage to squeeze in a couple of circuit race meetings.

As you know it's not easy to make the rear end work on an RX7 but after some years and not inconsiderable expense, it is now beautifully nailed down - so now I need more power!!

The regs for Tarmac Rally are pretty tough - broadly you can change everything provided it was there in the first place......have to stick with Carby, have to use orginal gearbox casing, bridge port ok but no PP allowed, basic suspension layout must remain etc..

This is my first rotary and I'm loving it! It's so easy to make useful power and it has to be the most cost effective motorsport around.

How's the US of A??

Cold and lots of white crap on the ground right now...lol, but its more fun for driving than almost anything. Can't beat Phillip Island though, damn I miss that track.

I thought that was a Garden State licence plate...
