rear quarter? its easy. remove interior, and ecu. remove quarter window, and weatherstripping. drill out spot welds, pop off quarter. clean, straighten, fix rust as needed. fit new quarter, weld in.

step back, admire your work

Make sure that if you're gonna jack the vehicle to do this you put it on jack stands on all four. You don't wanna weld the new quarter on with just one wheel off of the ground.

i see in alot of car magazines that they took off the door and placed a brace in the door frame . do i need to do something like this ? also do i need to do this with the car off the ground or can i do it with the car sitting on all fours ... ?
also i am not taking the whole quarter off , just where the line in the body is down(not the trim indent the other one .... way above that) ... does this make a difference ?

Post pics of the damage. That will give us a better idea of advice to give. Bracing the door opening is usually for bodys that are not a hard top, you shouldn't need too.

Someone posted a link a while back to a supplier that makes replacement rear quarters, don't know if it will be applicable in your case or not as it was not a full panel.

Show pictures of your damage as I would like to see if it is the same as mine. I need my wheel well rust removed and new metal welded in. Another crappy thing is under my doors (not the doors, but sills) are rusted too. Everything else on the car is mint, which is weird eh? Anyways, let us know how it goes. I have been wondering if it's woth it or not. I think so as it has all new parts and is mechanically a1. I just hate to part her out. Any links to pictures or info on how to do this? Thanks!

Tommaso
