Question Firewall penetration

I have installed two Autometer gauges in the center console, one oil pressure and one water temperature. Would like to know good place for firewall penetration holes. Hole cut sizes are 1/4 inch for oil pressure and 5/8 inch for temp. I have searched for various threads to indicate locations but can not find anything indicating. If anyone has info would greatly be appreciated. Pics would be great. Thanks

i dunno what the setup is like on LHD rx7's but on mine i run all my wires/pipes for guages through a hole that in the passenger footwell. Below the aircon stuff, there should be a pipe going out of the cabin for condensation. i just enlarged the top of that hole a little. Its under the carpet so you dont get a breeze or anything from the hole.

Whats the rest of the world recommend?

Im running IDA so I completely eliminated the choke completely. I used that hole and enlarge it for the water temp probe as well as the oil pressure line.

all cables for my Wolf 3D setup were inserted through the holes in the passengerside of the firewall. LHD cars have most holes for RHD, but plugged. Remove the plugs and you're there.

I found a hole that wasn't really being used for anything in the driver's footwell that I ran the new wires for my windshield washer sprayers through.

Now before anyone calls "rice" on that last statement, they're STOCK windshield washer sprayers, but my combo switch broke So now they are run off a big red button.

On the bottom of the rubber boot where the wiring harness goes through the firewall is a rubber Nipple that you can cut a hole in and use for extra wires, at least my 79 has it, this allows extra wires through without an extra hole in the firewall. Also the hole on the passenger side near the condensation hole is good for wires that need to go on that side of the car.
