filter for dellorto carb

Does anyone know K&N's part no. for the k&n air filter for RB's Dellorto 48 DHLA carb? I see Racing Beat has a K&N filter that says it's only for the six port. Not quite sure which version I have. I bought my Dellorto kit on Ebay for my 4 port 12a. The instruction manual says 12a, and I have both intake manifolds. However, the cap that goes over the air filter says "six port"? Is the air filter assembly any different for the four port or six port? I wouldn't think so, but what do I know?

Yeah I have the catalog, it lists RB part #'s, however I need K&N part #, so I can go on a mad dash to AutoZone, Carquest, and Advance Auto tomorrow to see if they stock it, or who can get it here the quickest. I'm dropping my newly rebuilt streetported 12a in tomorrow. I went to put the RB foam filter on and it came apart at the seams.

Yeah, you don't see too many 1st gens up north here, huh? I see a few 2nd gens, and one 3rd gen once in a while.

or a local bug shop, if any.

if you use the 6 prt one it'll be a bitch. ask me how i know and why i had to shave down the top of my block. not to mention why my oil filler has a custom installed giant dent for clearance. best thing to do is scour the k&n catalog for an oval that fits the dimensions you're looking for. actually, i think the original was circular bent into an oval shape. you will have more than one choice.

dont know where you get some of your parts but heres a little heads up

advance auto - spark plugs "cheapest"
pep boys - spark plugs "usally in stock"
murrays - brake pads "cheapest"
murrays - calipers "cheapest"
advance - clutch kit "cheapest"
advance - slave rebuild kit "cheapest"

cant think of anything else off hand

I have one to add buy your alternators at murrays or NAPA. Autozone charges like $20 more for the same one. Also none of them keep it in stock. (as I found out today) lol.

Metalliman,

I am in exactly the same boat. My foam filter isn't dead yet, but it's not great... and I've heard bad things about its filtering abilities. I'm not anxious to order from RB due to the cost. Please let me know if you figure out the K&N part number!

Rxcetera (on the forum) actually replaced the assembly with a filter kit from cbperformance (with some modification), but he had remove the velocity stacks to get it to fit. Personally I'd rather keep the RB canister.

if i remember correctly, it was a 5"x9" oval that i found for mine. damned if i can remember the height. it was either 6" or 8". the catalogs should have the filter dimensions listed.
