Fibreglass hoods

OK, I'm a glutton for punishment, here goes.

I have located a diferent fibreglass guy, he is stating I can get full FB hoods for $250, with original hinge and latch locations or race skins for $200, they will be light but actual wont be known until he makes one. I am addressing the TII scoop issue but I need a scoop, anyone got a bent hood they could cut the scoop out of for a sample, it can be returned.

Numbers for definate starters please.

Steve

I need five per style to have the molds made, the guy is a professional he works for a large boat builder as a fibreglasser. I have seen a CF seat for his motorcycle, it is nice and flawless.

Any Idea how much a carbon fiber hood would cost? I would be interested in a CF hood. Are the plans for just for a TII scoop, are there any other possiblities for a hood that will get rid of the hot air?

Did you post this on Ohiorotaries.com? We might be interested and the members there alone would be enough for the group buy.

I will get a price on CF but it wont be cheap, the product is way up in price now.

If we have the numbers I can have any hood/scoop combo made, also need a sample of the hood for molding purposes.

Lets get 5 of one type done first so lets go with the orders. I'm going to get a deposit on orders so that I'm not left holding these hoods.

I will post on Ohiorotaries.

If needed I could have some RE-Amemiya vents shipped here (just the vents) and we could use them for a new mold.

I'm interested, I just need to setup my paypal account and get my refund.

Either fibreglass or CF would be possible for the sunroof, same criteria, need 5 orders. I'll get pricing on more parts tomorrow.

Turnaround should be about two weeks from when I get the sample to him, I'm picking up a clean hood and sunroof today, I need a TII scoop or any other style in hand for a few days for a mold to be made, these will be returned in the same condition unless the paint is very bad.

I want $50 deposit, this is just to ensure people follow through, I dont want to get left holding three hoods.

Tranquil if you get me the RE Amemiya vents I can have those done quickly.

Steve

My guy is pricing CF for us, he needs to buy a minimum amount of sheet and resin so pricing is up.

Seems pointless when we can make our own copy fully built into an FB hood

OK, I have a sunroof being made, we will offer a standard replacement one and one with a vent similar to WRC style. Pricing will be around $100 including a special glue to reattach the original hardware to secure the roof. You can order without the glue for $20 less. Shipping will be actual price by zip code.

Roof will weigh an estimated 2 lbs without brackets trim etc. the original is two layers of pressed steel and weighs a lot more. Glass is ridiculously heavy.

I will post pix ASAP.

Hood will be soon after that. I am working on a hood with a NASA style vent on the passenger side for direct air flow into intake. Also looking at vents on trailing edge of hood.

OK note: weight, no scoop, no vents. Do they offer custom builds? Is the product finished so that composites can remain unpainted? Do they have a sunroof? Are they interested in building for RX7club members requirements?

Are you suggesting I'm wasting my time. I don't get your reason for posting this on my thread. I suggest a seperate thread is more appropriate.
