Fibre glass hoods,, heavy or lite.

I decided to try my hand at making a fibre glass hood.
i didn't want to use the carbon i bought on the first prototype if i fucked up, so it's all fibre glass. the under side looks just like a stock hood (bracing) with a thin skin for the top. it's not finished, but this sucker only weighs 2 1/2 pounds.. never made anything this large of 'glass but it's turning pretty good . IMO

Completely stock-looking or did you add some Pop! to the upper design?

It was completly stock as of this morning.. just minutes ago i decided the cut 2 vents,, i don't know yet if i like it.
if not i'll just 'glass it up,,,,,, so maybe. this thing is ******* lite . i'm thinking for the stock hood latch of a 'drop-in' box rivited, and for the stock hinges , i'm thinking 2 strips of flat metal, each running from the front all the way back, rivited with 2 nuts tack welded to the metal strips for the hood bolts.. we'll see.
