I can't believe he still has that stupid Email URL when he never responds to it. He needs to deep-six it. You basically have to follow the site directions regarding shipping. He prefers to have both manifold and carb, but will accept carb only. Make absolutely sure the carb is sitting on a fabricated base to keep the brackets from touching anything. I used to work for the Evil Empire, UPS, and can vouch that we don't care about a box at 4 in the morning. They tumble nicely coming down slides and falling off conveyor belts. Call Yawpower and hope you get him. Wait months until it comes back and call him again if it needs slight adjusting but I believe the carb comes with complete tuning tips. All of this is gleaned from following YawPower for the past year and distilling Forum members experiences as I read them. There have been about 8 or 9 threads since August when I first discovered this site. Mazspeeed goes further back but it's more tedious to work that site for information. PM hanman as he is a definite pro-YawPower fan...

redrx,
plan on spending close to $500 by the time you are done. This is more than just the carb, but it's what you will end up with in the final analysis.
You will be getting:
Yaw carb
Yaw manifold
Yaw pressure gauge
Holley fuel pressure regulator
Carter fuel pump
other assorted items such as fuel line, fuel filter etc.

Hey I've had good luck E-mailing him about some porting Q's that I had... the first time he reponded within a few hours, second time almost immediately. Maybe he just wasn't as busy then.

---->hanman, what if we don't want the fuel pump or regulator 'cuz we've got better stuff already? What's the guesstimated cost, then? Just curious. I keep going back and forth between Yaw and RXcetera or even attempting R. Golden's suggestions he Email'd me...

Hey I've only been on the Forum since May... I've been a net geek since mid-1989 though. (Before that newfangled WWW came along and ruined all our geek fun )
Let me check my mail... well it's not on this computer, I started using this computer in september 2000, so my guess is that I mailed him in mid-2000 or so. (Everything from 1989 to late 1999 was on a system called the Cleveland Free-net, which was a wholly dial-in system, and my mail was kept on their servers and I used their mailreader - I used my 286 with a 2400 baud modem and it was loads faster than graphical everything )

Mar,
Here is the breakdown:
Super Street Yaw carb=$305.00
Manifold=$75.00
Pressure gauge=$45.00
Figure from there. I was just using my figures, because that was everything I ended up purchasing.

August and September? Hmmm, sounds like SCCA Runoffs. I would think a person who builds race motors for a living would have been at the runoffs. In fact, I'm sure most all the motor builders were there.
You wanna drive a freaky old car with an antique fuel delivery system, you either deal with the low volume shops that know freaky old stuff, build your own, or deal with some slick talking sales folk that will always answer the phone, until next year when they're out of business.
Considering it took me 4 months, untold hours of trial and error and lots of research to deal with a stumbling problem in high G left turns, and he stuck with it and eventually solved it, I am more than willing to deal with occaisonally having to call a few times to get through.

hanman, since you actauaaly bought one, does the '815 to '85 carb bolt right onto an '80 manifold. Externally, were all the emissions and vacuum tubes still operating? If he's still hovering around the $300 mark, I guess that's the way to go. I'll try the insipid Email one more time. Maybe, since it's off-season, he'll reply to a simple request for his services and answer some emissions questions. Sounds like the other two "lucky" hot-dogs piqued his interest with arcane technical questions...
