FD / FC Alternator into FB - engine stress?

I still have the stock 55A alternator in my 84 non-GSL and have been thinking about getting one of silverrotor's FD into FB kits before he runs out, or getting an FC alternator to replace as I have installed a sound system (300W amp, 700W amp, 2x4" speakers, 2x6.5" speakers, and an 8" sub) and am concerned about taxing the alternator and possibly having it die on me in traffic on the way to/from work.

I was wondering though, the gained power from a new (larger) alternator can't just be for free and does installing one drain any noticeable power from the engine?

the alternator will only take power when needed and it should not be any more noticable than your ineficient stock alt

S4 altenator will make a big diffence with no mod's to install, spacer on the water pump mount might need alittle grinding to fit just right. S5 altenators need a relay/fuse/flux capacitor to get them to work on our old cars.
