FD Bose system in a FB? (pondering)
Has anyone ever installed/fabricated a bose sound system from a 3rd gen into their 1st gen? I was pondering it the other day and didn't really dig up any info on it. I know it would be easier to just go to best buy and pick up a couple 6" speakers for the rear, some tweeters for the front, and maybe a small amp, but I want to do something a little different.
I bet if you made your own box it would be cheaper. Plus you would have a custom setup thats what im doing after christmas when i got some cash..
First of all you make a fourm with chicken wire, than you paper machee it to make a mould.
After the mould hardens you take the chicken wire out so it dont rattle when it's finished, then you lay a few layyers of fiberglass maybe 3 to 4 on top of the paper machee. Then cut some holes for speakers paint it wire it and bam you got a custom box. The only thing I'm concerned about is getting it back into the car, so dont make a giant box that fits too snug but make it snug enough so it wont jump out the window when your driving.
Ill post pics and progress when I get started.

Those things are spendy, even for being made in the early/mid 90s!
